Website Functionality Browsing the web, looking for the perfect website design. This where most people begin, they get that fresh business idea they fell in love with. New to making a website, it is easy to get lured in by one size fits all Giants. These companies boast great front-end design that teases those eager to fit their great idea. These sites come at the cost of being restricted. The deceptive nature of these companies allows you to think that you will get the perfectly tailored site but in reality, restrict your ability to create a functional site. Website Functionality is something to consider when shopping. Website functionality can dictate whether you keep potential customers interested with service/ product. A factor of functionality is how easily navigable you make your website. The easier it is to find a product the greater a chance it is of gaining a sale. The ergonomics of the website gets judged subconsciously by those who will use your site. A tip for those who are new to building an online presence, go to competing websites and choose a few that are pleasing, easy to navigate and have features you like. Take notes and ideas from your favorite site. This will inevitably help shorten your build time. When looking for a website platform, look for companies who will allow blog integrations. Getting content on your site is critical. Google will pick up the blog content, it will move you up in the google search ranking, allowing more probability of being found. Another piece is being able to link social media accounts directly to your homepage. This is another critical part to your website that will create avenues in which your business can be found. Posting content on these outside accounts helps garner the attention of the masses. These are basic things to consider in your website functionality. All websites need these factors to compete on any level. It is also important to consider alternative features that may be common amongst other competitors. Study how other websites are built and how they give a ‘call to action’ to potential customers.
